Our Present
Our total enrollment of approximately 450 students are housed in Cresson Elementary, a pre-K through 6th grade school dedicated in 1996; a modular building that houses the Mountain Alternative School program for alternative high school students, and the newly remodeled Cripple Creek-Victor Junior/Senior High School that was dedicated in 2008. Educational opportunities are available for preschool through 12th grade with post-secondary opportunities for high school students. Our mission statement of “Achieving Excellence One Student at a Time” guarantees an individual learning experience for all students. Over 65% of the teaching staff holds a Master’s Degree in Education and all participate in constant staff development opportunities that provide proven teaching strategies. The district participates in the 4-day week with Fridays as the day off from formal class work, but the day off allows for many educational enhancements and field trips. Extra-curricular opportunities are available for all grades. Fall, winter and spring sports, dance, after school mentoring opportunities and Friday learning clinics help students become “life long learners.” Plans are being considered for a state of the art solar energy system for both schools that will provide unique learning experiences for elementary and secondary students. We are proud to be a Community of Caring school district that supports the values of Responsibility, Respect, Trust, Caring, and Family and work to incorporate these values into every aspect of our curriculum.
